In Wurzburg we toured the "Residence". Yes. That is the name. Are you wondering who? It is the residence of the bishop of the Catholic Church in the 1720s. It was excessively opulent if you ask us! If we were taxpayers in that day we would seriously wonder why!
Wurzburg was 90% destroyed in 1945, but they rebuilt the Residence. (No pictures are allowed inside)

Another interesting fact about Wurzburg, Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen discovered X-Ray in 1895. (I'm pretty sure I had to know that when I took the boards back in 1979). But alas! He is not a bishop so there is no opulent home for Roentgen even though he made such an impact in medicine!
Today Doug and I are having our afternoon "break" at "stern back" in the center of the marketplace! It has been open since 1811
We got the chance today to see our ship come through a lock. It is interesting on the boat or watching the boat.
I'm loving your pictures. I wish I was there with you. You two are having too much fun!
