Day 2: Amsterdam

Landed about 30 minutes early.  We were met at the gate by a driver for Uniworld who whisked us to our hotel by way of the windmill!
After check in, even at 0900, they let us in our room.  We rested for a few hours!

We are right at the central area, across from the train station, at the Park Plaza Victoria. We ventured out on our own.   One of the cool things about this city is that everyone bikes.  This picture is of a bike lot. (They are adding onto it).  You park there in the morning to catch the train for work.

Back at the hotel we had a bite to eat then had an orientation tour with our tour guide and a beverage. Check out the leaning building!

It is 6:24pm here now and I am ready to sleep for 8 hours!

So many bikes in a city that has quite a bit of weather.

Amsterdam is known for all of their man-made canals.

Cath posing in front of one of the legal pot stores.

And if you have pot stores, it is handy to have a McDonalds nearby...
Or maybe some good Dutch cheese...

And then desert after that...

And then there is the red-light district where the ladies show off their wares in the windows...

The restaurant with the line is for unhealthy burgers and fries. The one on the right with no one in line is for the healthy food. Some things appear to be the same over here in Amsterdam.
