We had a great day today in Rothenburg. We were here a couple of years ago, and loved it, so we decided to take the optional trip there again.
This is Charles, our tour guide, (you may have seen him in pictures yesterday!) He is from Pennsylvania, but moved to Germany after he got out of the USAF 30 years ago. He really wanted to always be able to drive fast on the Autobahn.
Playing around in the criminal museum. We don't have a picture of it here, but part of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was filmed in Rothenburg. The "Childcatcher" is right outside this museum.
Where we had a really great lunch. They had statues on this restaurant that showed
the 7 virtues and the 7 deadly sins.
city center the white tower on the left was one we climbed last time. 208 steps up. we did not climb it this time
Lots of nice cars in Germany. We rode down the autobahn today. We would both love to drive on it. Over 100 miles an hour is OK! There is no speed limit
All the signs have to be Iron signs. They have "standards"
Taking pictures of the valley outside the walls. This town still has the original walls. Very Medieval
Afternoon snack, the apple struedle anywhere in Germany is great! None of them are the same.
You would think they would have a standard recipe!
Rothenberg city center clock that rings every hour. The windows open, the clock chimes, you see the characters inside for a minute or two.
These swans were following me down the wall where our ship was berthed.
I think they wanted to be fed. But they were out of luck, I didn't have anything to feed them.
